2012 Civic'le birlikte daha güçlü ve daha ekonomik IMA (hibrid) ve benzinli motorlara ek olarak küçük hacimli bir dizel motorun da geleceği duyuruldu. Bu konuda şimdilik daha fazla bilgi yok.
Eğer bu küçük hacimli dizel 1.6 ve aşağısında olursa, Civic HB macerası Türkiye'de kaldığı yerden devam edebilir. Mevcut Civic, vergi dezavantajlı 1.8 ve son derece hantal 1.4 modelleriyle rakiplerin karşısında hiçbir varlık gösteremedi.
